Welcome to the Nursery

Welcome to the Nursery at Tettenhall College. We aim to build a coherent and flexible approach to care and learning at the beginning of the Early Years Foundation Stage. You can be confident that your child will receive a quality experience that supports their development and learning.

The Nursery is designed to meet the needs of each individual child. We aim to assist in the development of your child through positive reinforcement, a caring and happy environment, excellent facilities and well-trained and qualified practitioners. Children play spontaneously and it is through play that they develop intellectually, creatively, physically, socially and emotionally. Activities and experiences are planned for the children in order to help them learn through play, enjoyment and challenges. We believe in making well-planned play central to children's development and learning, ensuring that learning is both challenging and fun. Therefore, at the core of The Drive School Nursery will be an approach that is both "teaching" and providing freely chosen yet potentially instructive play "activities".

Our Nursery was purpose-built and designed to meet the needs of 2 and 3 year olds. It comprises a large, bright and colourful room with a wet area at one end. It has its own bathroom with toilets, wash hand basins and nappy changing facilities. There is an integral open plan cloakroom area. Three doors lead onto a secure enclosed play area, which has a rubber crumb surface and allows the pupils a constant outdoor space to play in. Adjacent to the Nursery is a Sleep Room that accommodates our younger children who may need a sleep during the day.
